Breastfeeding is natural, but also a skill that takes time and patience to learn. We provide kind, compassionate help and advice for new parents who may have difficulties breastfeeding, or who may need support as they learn the ropes in the early days and weeks.
This can be done either in the home, or at our clinic in Clarecastle.
A Mother’s Experience
Having breastfed my own children, they were my first and best teachers! I am trained to assess baby’s latch and feeding pattern, and to know how to help identify issues that can impact on feeding.
These include: positioning and attachment, identifying physical restrictions that may be affecting latch and causing pain; milk supply issues (both under and oversupply); managing a new baby and a modern lifestyle; returning to work; weaning onto solids or formula; and essentially anything a family may need to find what works best for them.
Get Started with Antenatal Classes
My antenatal classes provide everything parents need to know to get off to a smooth start.
We learn all about what is normal and what is not, how to hold and latch baby on, how to troubleshoot difficulties, and where to seek support—if and when needed.
